“The best makeup foundation you can wear is youthful-looking skin.”

How can I maintain youthful-looking skin?

Aging is the essence of being alive. When you age, your skin ages with you, hence losing your youthful-looking skin. However, the advanced world of cosmetics has proven treatments that can help reduce or even eliminate the signs of aging. One of the best treatments to combat wrinkles, sagging skin, and others signs of aging is thread lifting.

What is thread lifting?

Thread Lifting is a cosmetic treatment that enhances the texture and structure of your skin on the face and neck. It helps tighten sagging skin, smoothen fine lines and wrinkles, and lifts drooping eyebrows. The treatment aims to provide your desired facial contour while ensuring youthful and rejuvenated skin.

Our Toorak thread lift procedure is an anti-aging technique that uses specialized absorbable suture threads to lift, reposition, and hold the loosened or sagging skin. It combats sunken cheeks, jowls, and sagging neck skin while allowing the suture to stimulate the production of collagen in the skin. Thus, keeping the skin hydrated and refreshed and vibrant.

This treatment is a minimally invasive facelift procedure without the hassle of surgical procedures and lengthy hospital stays. Thread lift works by using soluble threads with bidirectional cones that anchor onto the subcutaneous fat and gradually pull the skin up, hence exhibiting a lifting effect

Thread Lift vs. Traditional Facelift

In essence, both procedures involve the removal of excess sagging skin. However, a traditional facelift is a serious cosmetic procedure that consists of long incisions with a lot of pain and discomfort, moderate to severe downtimes, and extended recovery periods.

A thread lift, on the other hand, is a minimally invasive procedure with minimal downtimes and a relatively shorter recovery period. Pain and discomfort during the procedure are reduced through the application of local anesthetics or topical sedatives. This treatment is also less intrusive as it only requires tiny incisions.

Traditional facelifts have recorded serious complications that result in further aesthetic enhancements. In comparison, thread lift has been proven minimal-risk with rare to no complications. The thread works by “lifting” the sagging skin and the soft tissues while anchoring them onto the stronger tissues usually located on your sideburns. In some cases, they anchor the skin to the deep crease behind the ear or the fascia.

The results of thread lift procedures are very subtle and there are no obvious signs of facelifting. Although the changes are noticeable, they look very natural as compared to traditional facelift procedures. Thread lift treatments are conceptualized to restore the younger you by reducing the excess skin.

Thread Lift Procedure

Thread lift procedures start with a consultation. Your trusted cosmetic doctors will listen to your skin woes and evaluate your skin condition. After a thorough diagnosis, your doctor will develop a treatment plan that addresses your skincare needs. The process will be explained to you to help you understand how your skin enhancement goals can be achieved.

The thread lift procedure will begin by marking the sites where the thread will pass to lift and anchor the skin. Before the thread lifting, a local anesthetic will be applied to the affected areas. This will make you feel more at ease and comfortable during the procedure.

Using a long thin cannula, the thread is guided from the hairline right behind your ear to the areas that need lifting. The thread is then pulled lifting the skin backwards to produce a tightening effect to the skin of the affected area.

Depending on the extent of your skin condition, the thread lifting treatment may take about thirty minutes to two hours. The downtime is very minimal, hence, you can drive home right after the treatment.

Recovery Period for Thread Lift

After a thread lift procedure, it takes about one to two weeks for patients to recover from the treatment. However, the final results will gradually settle in a few more weeks. To ensure optimum results, patients are advised to take all prescribed medication and follow an aftercare regimen provided by their cosmetic doctors.

For the first two weeks following the procedure, you should follow a soft diet strictly and you should also take more fluids. However, you should refrain from drinking alcohol-based beverages and blood-thinning medicines as this may hamper your healing process.

You will also be advised to sleep on your back with your head elevated for at least two weeks. When you sit, make sure to elevate your feet as well. If you have scheduled facial massages, it is best to have them rescheduled after you recover.

Refrain from too much facial movements including chewing and talking for the next twenty-four hours. You should also avoid strenuous physical activities and exercises including heavy lifting for at least a month.

These are just some pointers that can help you get through your recovery and achieve a successful result. Remember to seek immediate attention in case of unwarranted bleeding, shortness of breath, extreme palpitation, and vision impairment.

How long does thread lift treatments last?

Just like most cosmetic enhancement procedures, the results of thread lift treatments are temporary but may relatively last for a long time. Getting face enhancement treatments are still bound by the inevitable effects of aging, hence, boosting and improving your skin condition can be done now and then.

On average the effects of thread lifting can last between one to three years or even more. The texture of the skin and the structure of the body tissues vary from one person to another. This creates a variance in the longevity of thread lifts among patients. Some may even enjoy the effects of thread lift for a lifetime.

A thread lift procedure may be repeated after two years or when signs of sagging skin start to manifest once again. This also helps maintain the reliability and effectiveness of the outcome.
