The initial emotion of any individual who hasn’t experienced injectable treatments are apprehension and anxiety. However, after experiencing the procedure, many women come back for maintenance because hyaluronic acid based fillers are safe and reversible treatments.
Once you booked a consultation with our cosmetic doctor, here are some preparations prior to the procedure.
DAYS BEFORE THE PROCEDURE
Many women with thin lips seek lip treatments with fuller lips. Patients who are opting for this procedure may tell their friends and families as the results will be noticeable. One must expect mixed reactions amongst their loved ones. However, lip fillers from hyaluronic acid are extremely safe and are reversible. The full effect lasts up to a year and touch-ups can be done to maintain the optimum outcome.
DAY OF THE PROCEDURE
On the day of the treatment, you will be walked through during the consultation by our cosmetic doctor. You may be offered numbing creams, however, lidocaine (an anaesthetic) is already included in your dermal filler product. Most of our patients report that they don’t feel any pain at all or just a slight sensation. For first time treatments, it may starts with 1 syringe. The entire procedure may last approximately up to a maximum of 30 minutes and an aftercare form will be provided.
Many women are already familiar with hyaluronic acid from their face creams because this substance promotes skin hydration and makes the skin supple and smooth
AFTER THE PROCEDURE
Approximately 3 to 5 hours after the procedure there may be swelling, bruising, pain, and discomfort, but it is bearable. You can feel free to ask one of our doctors at the time of the procedure if he thinks you will bruise. The doctor has enough experience to have an idea as to whether the individual will bruise and swell.
DERMAL FILLER LIFESPAN
Any discomfort experienced by the patient will subside in a couple of days. It is important that within the next 48 hours, the lips shouldn’t be touched or rubbed roughly. By the 2nd day, the fillers on the lips have settled and can apply lipstick. The outcome can last 6 months to 1 year depending on the individual’s metabolism and lifestyle.
It is significant to choose a cosmetic doctor with at least 5 years experience with lip injections.
