What are Perfect Lips?
Lip augmentation has become incredibly more popular over the past few years as people look for ways to plump and define their lips using dermal fillers. If you walked down the street and asked several people what they thought constituted the perfect looking lips you’d likely get just as many answers as people you asked as this is rather a subjective question. But by looking at the line-up of social media influencers and celebrities, it’s clear there’s a subconscious preference for most people for lush and full looking lips. However, while some lips can be well filled and looking naturally youthful others can tend to look a little too much like plungers.
Scientists have done a fantastic job in recent years perfecting quality fillers, and many doctors are trained to perform these procedures. However, both are almost useless if the professional performing the injections has no sense of artistry as aesthetic beauty is mainly about symmetry and balance. Producing not just lovely lips but making sure they are in harmony with the rest of the face is the goal and not everyone qualified to do filler injections have the artistic edge and experience to do an optimal job, which is why it’s so important to be careful who you choose to do these kinds of augmentations. Injectable fillers are the perfect solution for more mature women (and of course men if they desire) who have lost volume in their lips. The essential thing to consider is finding an experienced professional to perform these injections. If the right amount of filler is used in the right areas and in the right ways the results can be awe-inspiring leaving a patient with younger-looking, more kissable or defined lips afterward. When these procedures are done well no one would suspect that you even made a visit to the cosmetic doctors office as the results can look very natural when unskillfully done, though if the lips are overfilled or applied to the wrong areas the results could be very noticeable and often unappealing to the point that even strangers will spot it. Lip augmentation is also a fantastic solution for women and men who weren’t genetically blessed with much lip size and shape at all an experienced injector can create a fresh new smile from previously flat lips.
General Lip-Plumping Rules
If from each pupil you draw down a vertical line the lips should fit between them typically. The upper lip should be around 18 to 20mm from the nose and the lower lip should be approximately 38 to 30mm from the chin. When seeking a natural looking profile, lips shouldn’t extend past certain areas between the nose and the chin as they will start to look unnatural. The bottom lip should be fuller than the top lip. If the top lip is overfilled a look many call “duck lips” can be the result. As a result of aging fine lines start to form around the lips these are called perioral raidal thytids and in an effort to smooth out these lines some injectors will end up injecting too much filler in the top lip. Fillers are impressive when used to do what they do best and that’s producing natural, rejuvenated looking outcomes rather than obvious more extreme changes.
